Abstract:
Matroid theory is the study of the abstract properties of linear dependency. It has been shown to be of fundamental importance in combinatorial optimization. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction of the concept of matroids, and then talk about a number of interesting research problems in the field.
周向前副教授个人简介：
ZhouXiangqian graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1998, and he then went to the Ohio State University(USA) for graduate school and got his Ph.D in December 2003,under the guidance of Dr. Neil Robertson. Right now he is an associate professor at Wright State University in Ohio, USA. Before joining WSU, he had post-doctoral and visiting positions at university of Waterloo(Canada), Syracuse University,the University of Mississippi, and Marshall University.
