Abstract: In thistalk, we present some efficient numerical methods for fractional differentialequations. The main ingredients include: 1) High order methods for time spacediffusion equations; 2) Spectral methods for space fractional partialdifferential equations. We will discuss the existence and uniqueness of theweak solution of a kind of boundary value problems, and their spectralapproximations based on the weak formulations. Particularly, we will talk aboutfast spectral methods for high dimensional fractional diffusion equations.
许传炬教授个人简介：
许传炬教授现为厦门大学数学科学学院闽江学者特聘教授, 博士生导师，副院长. 1986年在厦门大学攻读硕士学位, 1993年在巴黎第六大学获数学博士学位. 2000年获法国法中科技协会颁发的信息科学2000奖，其完成的不可压缩流体的高精度数值模拟 项目获2003年度福建省科学技术奖二等奖，2006年入选教育部新世纪优秀人才培养计划。
许传炬教授现在的主要研究领域为偏微分方程的谱元法和计算流体力学，主持多项国家自然科学基金面上项目，参加国家重点基础研究（973）项目一项，在SIAM. J. Numer. Anal., Math.Comp.等国际著名期刊上发表学术论文80余篇。
