Abstract: Bauer in1985 raise the problem of determine best degree conditions on a graph $G$ toassure that the line graph $L(G)$ is hamiltonian. Kuipers-Veldman conjecture aminimum degree condition to assure 3-connected claw-free graph to behamiltonian. These problems have been settled in 1988and 2007, respectively. The talk will presentthe work done by WVU visiting professors Liu, Jianping and Yu, Aimei in theireffort to extend Bauer's problem and Kuipers-Veldman conjecture tohamiltonian-connected line graphs and claw-free graphs, among others.
赖虹建教授个人简介：
赖虹建教授是美国西弗吉尼亚大学数学系教授、博士生导师，主要研究领域为图论，是享有盛名的国际图论专家。赖虹建教授1983-1988在美国密执安韦恩州立大学（Wayne State University）获数学博士学位。1988-1989年在加拿大滑铁卢大学（University of Waterloo）组合优化系作博士后研究。1989年受聘于美国西弗吉尼亚大学（West Virginia University）数学系为助理教授。1995年升为副教授并聘为终身教授，2000年升为正教授。从2009年起任西弗吉尼亚大学数学系副主任。1996年获学院最优科研奖， 2006年获学院最优教师奖，以及2006年全校最优教师奖， 成为西弗吉尼亚大学历史上获此荣誉的第一个华裔教授。曾主持过1996年由美国国家自然科学基金会资助的纪念凯特林（Catlin）教授的欧拉图问题专题会议和由美国国家自然科学基金会资助的第46届美国中西部图论会议。曾任“离散数学”杂志客座编辑，现任“（远东）应用数学” 杂志编辑。 现已完成了两部专著《图与组合学中的矩阵论》和《拟阵论》，并在数学杂志上发表学术论文180多篇，其中由SCI检索的有100多篇。
