周汝光,男,汉族,中共党员,1965年9月出生于江苏靖江,理学博士,教授,博士生导师。现任教育部高等学校数学类专业教学指导委员会委员,中国数学会理事,中国国际教育交流协会理事,江苏省数学会副理事长,江苏省国际教育交流协会副会长。

1986年本科毕业于江苏师范大学(原徐州师范大学)数学系,获理学学士学位;1989年硕士毕业于郑州大学基础数学专业,获理学硕士学位;1997年博士毕业于复旦大学基础数学专业,获理学博士学位。博士论文获2000年全国优秀博士论文。

1989年7月起在江苏师范大学工作至今。期间1998年-2001年多次在香港城市大学访问研究,2001年-2002年获德国洪堡基金在德国Paderborn大学访问研究一年,2008年以高级访问学者身份在美国南佛罗里达大学访问研究。1989年破格晋升为副教授,2001年破格晋升为教授。2003年5月至2004年3月担任数学系主任;2004年3月至2007年9月担任研究生处处长;2007年9月至2017年6月担任江苏师范大学副校长,2017年7月起至今担任江苏师范大学校长。

长期从事孤立子与可积系统的数学理论研究,已发表论文80余篇。参加国家攀登计划“非线性科学”项目和国家重点基础研究发展规划项目“非线性科学中的若干前沿问题”项目各1项,主持完成国家自然科学基金6项,教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”项目1项,教育部高等学校全国优秀博士学位论文作者专项资金项目1项,教育部留学回国人员科研基金1项,教育部优秀青年教师资助计划项目1项,江苏省“青蓝工程”专项资助计划项目1项,参加江苏省教委自然科学基金项目1项。研究成果获2012年度教育部高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖二等奖。

“数学与应用数学”国家一流专业建设点负责人,获江苏省人民政府高等教育教学成果二等奖1项,另参与1项。

教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”人选、“江苏省333新世纪科学技术带头人培养工程”培养人选第三层次培养对象、江苏省“333高层次人才培养工程”首批中青年科学技术带头人、江苏省教委“普通高等学校跨世纪学术带头人”培养人选。2004年享受国务院颁发的政府特殊津贴。2001年被评为“江苏省高等学校优秀共产党员”,被授予“江苏省劳动模范”称号,2003年获全国五一劳动奖章,2005年被授予“全国先进工作者称号”。
