报告题目：Existence of solutions to a class of quasilinear elliptic equations

报告摘要： In this talk, we consider existence of multiple solutions to a class of quasilinear elliptic equations. Sign properties of the solutions are also studied. Such equations has a variational structure, but the associated functional is only formally defined. It is not well defined if we try to define it on large spaces, while it does not have compactness if we try to define it on small spaces. These difficulties prevent us from applying directly critical point theory. We shall recall methods developed in the literature in dealing with such equations. We shall also present some recent results obtained by Yongtao Jing, Zhi-Qiang Wang and myself.
报告人简介：刘兆理，首都师范大学数学科学学院教授，多年从事非线性分析研究，在变分方法和椭圆型偏微分方程方面做出了多项研究成果。曾作为洪堡学者在德国吉森大学工作两年，2008年获得国家杰出青年科学基金资助。
