报告题目:Finite time blow-up of shadow system for Gierer-Meinhardt model

摘 要: Shadow system is often used to approximate reaction-diffusion system when one of the diffusion rates is large. In this talk, we compare these two systems in terms of global existence and finite time blow-up phenomena using Gierer-Meinhardt system as an example. Our results indicate serious discrepancy between dynamics of reaction-diffusion system and its shadow system. This provides a concrete example showing nonlocal effects in shadow systems. Hence the convergence of the solution as d2 needs to be investigated more carefully. This is the joint work with Nung Kwan Yip, Purdue University.

李芳博士个人简介:李芳,2003年本科毕业于浙江大学数学系, 2008年于美国明尼苏达大学获得博士学位,师从倪维明教授,之后在美国普渡大学工作了3年,任科研助理教授(Research Assistant Professor),于2011年回国,现为华东师范大学偏微分方程中心副研究员。主持过国家自然科学基金青年基金项目以及上海市浦江人才计划基金。主要研究带有应用背景的非线性椭圆型抛物型方程(组),有多篇文章发表在Journal of differential equations, Indiana University Mathematics Journal, Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems -A, Journal of Mathematical Biology, Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, European Journal of Applied Mathematics等国际一流学术期刊上。
