Motivated by a supercongruence, we givea reduction process on the product of a polynomial and a hypergeometric term.We show that when the hypergeometric term has some symmetric property, thereduction mantain the symmetric property of the polynomial. As an application,we confirmed a conjecture on the supercongruences of a hypergeometric term

侯庆虎，天津大学数学学院教授、博士生导师，2001年获得南开大学博士学位，在组合恒等式机器证明领域取得多项重要成果：包括给出了二元超几何项的结构定理，q-Zeilberger算法终止性的判定定理，二元有理函数可求和判定算法等。主持国家自然科学基金多项，其中2013年获得国家优秀青年基金项目资助。
