报告人简介：
白中治，中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院研究员，博士生导师。曾获得国家杰出青年科学基金、冯康科学计算奖、中国科学院青年科学家奖二等奖、国务院政府特殊津贴等，并入选国家级“新世纪百千万人才工程”。曾多次受邀访问牛津大学计算实验室、卢瑟福实验室、瑞士苏黎世联邦工学院、东京大学应用物理系、香港大学数学系、斯坦福大学计算机科学系、加州大学柏克利分校数学系等国际一流研究院所。曾担任中国数学会计算数学学会秘书长、常务理事和中国工业与应用数学学会理事，现担任国内外多个著名杂志编委。白中治研究员的主要研究领域包括数值线性代数和并行计算。迄今，已发表科研论文200余篇。
报告摘要：
We consider iterative solution of large sparse system of linear equations with its coefficient matrix being either square or rectangular but of full row or column rank, leading to regular-, under- or over-determined linear system, respectively. We review several effective iteration methods in the typical classes such as the matrix splitting methods and the Krylov subspace methods, discuss various high-quality preconditioning techniques for the Krylov subspace methods, and also point out some possibly interesting topics for future study.
